A Brief Description of the B.Tech in Marine Engineering Course

The B.Tech Marine Engineering program lasts four years and teaches students how to become Marine Engineers, who are in charge of running, fixing, and keeping the machinery and systems on ships and other marine vessels.

To give students the technical knowledge and hands-on experience they need to design, build, run, and fix ship engines, propulsion systems, and other machinery on board in the merchant navy or other marine industries.

  • You must have passed the 10+2 (Science stream) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
  • The minimum score is 60% overall, but this may change from school to school.
  • The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India, says that you must be medically fit.
  • Age limit: Usually, you have to be under 25 when you apply.
